TRAINING TO BECOME A IAPA TRAINER (TA)

The IAPA-certified training to become a trainer in the tourist high ropes course builds on the successfully completed and IAPA-certified training to become a rescuer.

As an experienced IAPA rescuer, you can climb to the next level to become an IAPA trainer and, on completion of the training, you will have the skills to train and certify staff in your own facility (IAPA instructors and IAPA rescuers).
Your activities as an IAPA Trainer include: developing safety briefings as well as holding, training and coaching them; supervision instructors and rescuers in the facility; rescuing guests in the tourist high ropes course/adventure park from emergencies.

The training to become a IAPA Trainer comprises 5 days and takes place in one of our IAPA Academies.

 

Requirements

 

  • Trained IAPA rescuer with at least one season of experience
  • Knowledge of the current IAPA standards
  • Knowledge of the ropes course standard DIN EN 15567-1:2020-05, DIN EN 15567-2:2015-08
  • Knowledge of DGUV rule 112-198 + DGUV rule 112-199
  • Proof of first aid (9 units) or complete IAPA paper for G41 and the first aid course
  • Good general physical/mental condition and free from signs of drug abuse

 

Content of the training

 

  • Development of safety briefings as well as holding, training and coaching them
  • the supervision of instructors and rescuers
  • Imparting knowledge to new employees, especially for rescue situations
  • Permitted rescuer PPE (PPE with sport climbing standard is not permitted - no hip harness)
  • Health suitability of participants (topic G41 - how does the IAPA deal with this)
  • Liability issues in the ropes course
  • Insight into the topic of teaching and learning
  • Practical implementation of curriculum units
  • Insight into the contents of EN 15567
  • Knotology
  • Communication
  • Areas of responsibility of the trainer and safety manager and common interfaces (risk assessment, supervision, emergency plans, inspection, accident analyses)

 

Completion / Certification

 

The registration fee and certification costs are already included in the training costs. The course fees do not include meals and accommodation.

The registration deadline is 4 weeks before the start of the course, provided that the minimum number of participants is guaranteed, otherwise the course will be canceled.

Participation in ALL training days is mandatory for successful completion. After passing the theoretical and practical examination, the participant receives the IAPA certificate with a validity of 2 years. This will only be issued after payment of the course fee has been received.
